The zoo is always a fun experience because you have the freedom to walk around and take as long as you want

The zoo is always a fun experience because you have the freedom to walk around and take as long as you want , only downfall is trying to see the animals I went on a hot day so most were sleeping under trees and harder to see and lots of families are around

The zoo is quite small compared to the one we used to visit (Brisbane and Sydney for example)

The zoo is quite small compared to the one we used to visit (Brisbane and Sydney for example). There are nice animals like hippopotamus but we were quite frustrated seeing them turning around in very small enclosures. The pandas were hard to see as the zoo wanted to protect them, one of them was expecting. The kids really enjoyed the playground while we had lunch.

I booked the zoo tickets when my family came to visit us

I booked the zoo tickets when my family came to visit us. The zoo itself is very clean, probably the cleanest I have seen, small, that means you can cover the entire zoo in 4-5 hours, which is great for the kids and elders. Lots of shops, resting places and eateries throughout the section of the zoo. The highlight is the Lion feed. I still remember I was only a few centimetres away from the cage when the feed was done. Then the pandas were quite fun and lovely to watch. There is a bird show but a small one, though it was good. Overall a fairly good zoo, with a lot of endangered species and good for families and young kids.

Loved it

Loved it! As did the children. So much to see and do. Great playground for the children to play on after lunch as well. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely.

Adelaide Zoo can be easily reached by bus from the city center

Adelaide Zoo can be easily reached by bus from the city center. You can even take the free city loop bus and it takes about 10-15 minutes. The zoo has a great variety of animals. I especially enjoyed the night house with all kinds of Australian animals that I had never seen before. The pandas are also amazing to see. Was lucky enough to be there at their breakfast time. What struck me is that a lot of the animals that I saw where active and that was more enjoyable then when they just lie around. There are opportunities to meet animals up close and there are several informative shows, but I did not attend these. You can easily spend 2 hours in the zoo. But it is not very big. Personally I was a bit disappointed to find out that there is no aquarium part to the zoo (usually my favourite). But all in all it was a good experience.

I had a good time at Adelaide zoo

I had a good time at Adelaide zoo. There are two beautiful giants pandas! The zoo is close to the city so very easy to get there (on foot or bus). You can learn more about the animals with the talk , it is very interesting! I travel alone but I had a great time there so I think it is also perfect with friends or family.

I like to visit a zoo in each city I visit
Victoria 3 years ago

I like to visit a zoo in each city I visit, and Adelaide certainly didn't disappoint. The animals were adorable - particularly the pandas - and you could tell the bond the zoo keepers had with them. It is a pretty little zoo and we even found ourselves just sitting on the grass taking in the environment. I would definitely recommend a visit.
